Privacy FAQ
Does Woo.ie use cookies?
Yes, if you check the "Remember me" box when logging in, we will store your username and encrypted password in a cookie so you will not have to login again when you return. No other information is stored in this cookie and it will expire after 30 days.
Will other members be able to view all the information I provide in my profile?
No; certain, personally identifiable information (such as your real name and your e-mail address) can only be seen by you and Woo.ie staff members.
Do you make my details available to third parties?
No; Woo.ie take your privacy very seriously and will not make any of the details you provide in your profile available to any unrelated third parties for any reason without your permission. For more information, please see our Privacy Policy.
Should I ever reveal my real name or e-mail address to other Woo.ie members?
No; it is very unwise to share any personally identifiable information with other members unless you know exactly who you are dealing with and you feel comfortable divulging confidential information. Even if you do feel comfortable revealing this information to another member, we would still advise you to be cautious. See our Safety Tips for more advice on this issue.
What should I do if I receive abuse from another member?
The first thing you should do if you receive abuse from another Woo.ie member is add them to your blocklist. This will prevent them from sending you any further messages. Once you have done this, you are encouraged to contact a Woo.ie staff member with the name of the offending member and details of the abuse. If the member is found to be using our services inapproriately, we will take action against them. The action we would take ranges from barring the member from Woo.ie to contacting the authorities in more serious cases.
